  2. I was up until the wee small hours last night... but instead of blogging - which is my usual reason for staying up late - it was because I was watching Schindler's List on the TV. I really powerful film, and a very harsh reminder as to what happened in those years.

  3. It certainly is, and a movie I regret I have on VHS but haven't seen it was in the theaters. Thanks for reminding me of its power.

  4. Sadly we are increasingly seeing Holocaust deniers getting media space. We must never allow them to speak un-challenged. Just as we must never allow a repeat of the holocaust, not just against the Jews or Roma and others but all who are persecuted for their beliefs or race.

  5. So true, jazz. Hitler was quoted as saying to his subordinates, recalling Turkish atrocities of the First World War, "who remembers the massacres of the Armenians?". This was on the eve of Berlin implementing the "final solution". The seeds of these horrible crimes are simply dormant and know no national or ethnic monopoly.

  7. I am not sure how anyone can deny the holocaust! I had a friend whose family survived the holocost. His mother was only child when she was liberated. She would tell us of the autrocities committed against her friends. It was apalling!!
