Audrey Hepburn - "Moon River"

Audrey Hepburn was many things in life: a young resistance courier in WWII Holland, a dancer, model, mother and a tireless special ambassador for the world's children on behalf of UNICEF, but her film acting I think will be her greatest legacy. There are a lot of great moments assembled here from her films, and here are a good sample assembled by a true fan.

  1. She was a classic beauty. She looked in at everything she did. she did not flaunt her beauty and seemed if tis possible "down to earth".

  2. yes, I've always had high regard for her as both a person and actress, and I'd have to say my favorite of her movies, of which almost every one is excellent, is "Sabrina." This my favorite version of Moon River.

  3. oh those hats! if they used them as planters global warming could be solved... Moon river as sung by Audrey always manages to call up the fondest memories. It is hard to look at George and not think of the A team though. Audrey manages to make anyone want to eat all three meals at Tiffany's

  4. I think that's a fantastic summation, Fred.

  5. Mine too. "Sabrina" has the added attraction of starring both Bogie and Audrey Hepburn. It's also one of Billy Wilder's best films. Audrey Hepburn's "batting average" of excellent films to the relatively small number she did has to be one of the highest ever.

  7. lol. There are hats...and then there are those early 60's hats! Wish the ladies still wore those.

I read somewhere Audrey herself choose George Peppard for her co-star. Good choice, he wasan actor who was successful on television but underrated in the movies for some odd reason.
