A Little Touch of Boris in the Night

I was always a big fan of the classic "Frankenstein"/"Mummy" films that Universal produced in the 1930's and 40's. I prefer these movies over the modern fare of shock and schlock becuse the best of thefilms like "Bride of Frankenstein" have great gothic athmosphere, exquisite sets and better stories. And guys like Karloff, Bela Lugosi and Lon Cheney, Jr, were fine actors.

It is because of this that I was pleased to run across this little diversion someone put on YouTube featuring the major star of horror films from the "Golden Age" of movies, Boris Karloff. Here he is making a funny guest appearence on "The Dinah Shore Show" with Art Carney, Miss Shore and Betty Hutton.

If you thought he was scary as Frankenstein's monster or as a reanimated mummy from Ancient Egypt seeking a modern bride, wait until you see what chilling things he can do with his "cover" on the hit do-wop tune "Little Darling" from 1957!

Happy Halloween
