"The Sound of Silence" from "The Graduate" (1967)

The opening to the most popular film of 1968. This was not written for the film, but was added to the soundtrack from a previously released album by director Mike Nichols. Three other Simon and Garfunkel songs play on the soundtrack, including "Scarborough Fair/Canticle", "April Come She Will" and an early version of "Mrs. Robinson" that was later rewritten by Paul Simon.

  2. I totally agree. "The words of the prophets are written on the subway walls... tenement halls" Brilliant.

I haven't followed Garfunkel's career very well. Simon's "Graceland " was a marvelous album, but this one above is still very special.

  3. I do not know Garfunkel had much of a solo career. Paul SImon appears to have been the meat of the group
